Krav Maga is a complete fighting system focused exclusively on self-defense. It was created in Israel for the needs of the Armed and Security Forces, but his founder progressively evolved it into a self – defense system for citizens.
The main difference between Krav Maga and all the other fighting sports is the fact that it is not actually a sport. The goal is to prepare trainees for realistic attacks that can occur anywhere, possibly against more than one opponents most likely armed with deadly objects (knives, guns, bats, etc).
Obviously, no protective equipment, referees, weight classes and fair play is involved since we are training to deal with real attacks that can result in the removal of human life.
Krav Maga is rapidly spreading across the planet because it is a simple system, highly efficient, that can be easily followed by everyone, regardless his gender or age.
The IKMF has split its expertise in various fields such as: citizens, police, army, bodyguards, women, children, etc.
